"Weather Changes" by Ryan, Age 11

-----------------------------

Weather Changes

Summer is here sunny shining,
Waving its arms about,
Its time to play on the beach today,
Time to run and run and run and shout.

Autumn is coming leaves are falling,
Like planes running out of fuel,
The trees leaves are becoming scarce,
They are old men growing bald.

Winter weather is horrible,
Time for hat, scarf and gloves.
Now all the leaves have died down,
There are none left at all.
I can’t wait for summer to come around again.

"My Dad Is Back!!" by Megan, Age 11

................................

My Dad Is Back!!

Miserable and tired, lying in hospital,
Yes, still not back at home.

Desperate to arrive back to home sweet home,
And trying hard to walk around.
Days go by and improvement begins.

I was waiting for months and months,
Still no notice or sign.

Beginning a different month, yes it’s Christmas!!
At last he had arrived,
Close to Christmas Eve.
Keeping good care of my dad, and all my family were as happy as a family should be!!

"The Weather Changes" by John, Age 10

***********************

The Weather Changes

The golden sun’s shining,
Not a cloud in sight.
Gleaming like a shining torch,
It’s very, very bright.

Next day the sky is grey.
There are even thunder storms.
Rain, thunder and lightning,
People trying to keep warm.

At last the rain has stopped.
Replaced by the sun again.
Children running to the beach,
As the sun smiles down at them.

"A Young Foal" by Jasmine, Age 10

*********************
A Young Foal

It’s the first day of April
A new foal is born.
The mother gets a huge shock,
How cute, it’s a boy!

His mother sniffs and soothes him.
Breeze is his new name.
His black shining fur, so soft,
Soft as velvet fur.

Trotting round and round the field,
Making some new friends.
Playing together each day,
Now he can gallop.

Galloping by the old mill,
The sun shines on him.
He’s growing up so well,
Soon he’ll be a horse.

"My Brilliant New Puppy" by Alicia, Age 9

**********************

My Brilliant New Puppy

His fur as silky as a piece of velvet.
Inside a piece of velvet, a sweet jumpy dog.
Inside a jumpy dog, a fierce beast.
Inside a fierce beast, a calm cautious dog.
Inside a calm cautious dog, a nervous hound.
Inside a nervous hound, a sweet hearted puppy.
Inside a sweet hearted puppy, a heart thumping.

"Wolf Pup" By Izzi, Age 10

................................

Wolf Pup

Wolves sleeping in the den,
The snow is falling down, down, down,
A new wolf pup is born,
Her fur is as white as the snow.

The wolf pup is called Star,
Eyes shining like the big, round moon.
Tail never stops wagging,
And her ears are softer than silk.

Star is playful and fun.
Her howl is like a lullaby,
That fills the deep, dark, night.
Star is a shining star, so bright.

"My New Shoes" by Hayley, Age 10

***********************

My New Shoes

I’ve got some new shiny shoes,
I only know,
They squeak like a mouse,
As I move to and fro.

Talking to me as I move,
Saying “Hurry up I need to go.”
Saying goodbye to them as they move,

back to the cupboard for another nights sleep.
